Account → Account Security → Change my password
Change your own account password. Only available for local accounts — if your account comes from an SSO or LDAP identity provider, the Change my password card does not appear under Account Security, and you must change your password through that provider.
What you can do
- Set a new password for your local account.
- Reveal each password field with the eye icon while typing to catch typos.
Common task
Change your password
- Type your Current Password.
- Type a New Password. A strength meter appears below the fields.
- Re-type the same value in Confirm New Password.
- Wait for every requirement in the strength meter to turn green — Change Password stays disabled until they all are. The minimum length (8 by default) is always enforced; your administrator may additionally require uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, or special characters. The new password must also differ from the current one.
- Click Change Password. On success, the form resets and a toast confirms the change.
Abandon the edit
- Click Cancel to wipe all three fields without saving.
Fields
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Current Password | Required. If wrong, an inline error “Current password is incorrect” appears on this field only — other fields are preserved. |
| New Password | Must satisfy the workspace’s password requirements. The strength meter lists each rule and tracks it live. |
| Confirm New Password | Must match the new password. Mismatch shows a red error on this field. |
Not available for federated accounts
If your account was created by SSO/LDAP, the Change my password card is hidden. Use your identity provider’s self-service portal to change your password.
Permissions
None — every authenticated local user can change their own password.
