Manage → Configuration → Tags

Tags are curated, workspace-wide labels you attach to resources. Unlike free-form text, the tag vocabulary is defined here in one place, so the same tag means the same thing everywhere it is used. Tags then drive filtering across the platform — in Browse, on the Monitor dashboards, in reports — and they are a selector in Session Policy rules.

Reach it from the Configuration entry at the bottom of the Manage browse tree.

What you can do

  • Define the set of tags available across the workspace.
  • Edit a tag’s name, color, or description.
  • Assign or unassign resources in bulk from a tag.
  • Remove a tag from the vocabulary.

The table lists each Tag (as its colored chip), its Description, and a Resources count.

Common tasks

Create a tag

  1. Click Create Tag at the top right.
  2. Enter the tag’s Name, pick a Color from the chip picker, and optionally add a Description.
  3. Click Save. The tag becomes available everywhere resources are tagged or filtered.

Assign resources to a tag

Click the number in the Resources column. The Assign resources modal opens, where you tick or untick the resources that should carry this tag and save. (Tags can also be assigned on an individual resource’s Summary tab.)

Edit or delete a tag

Use the per-row edit and delete controls. Deleting a tag asks for confirmation and warns how many resources it will be removed from.

Where tags appear

Permissions

  • View the tag administration catalog: app.tags.read.
  • View assigned resource tags and filter resources by tag: app.resources.read, within your allowed locations. Selector labels are shared across the installation; they do not reveal resource assignments or counts.
  • Create / edit tags and manage assignments: app.tags.write.
  • Delete tags: app.tags.delete.
